Forests & Woodland

Ashdown Forest

In the heart of the High Weald, Ashdown Forest was once the hunting ground of King Henry VIII, and is home of Winnie the Pooh village Hartfield, and the perfect location for a Llama Trek from Ashdown Forest Llama Park.

St Leonards Forest offers preserved heathland towards the western weald and Wilderness Wood includes a range of activities from camp building to a woodland wildlife safari.

 

Hastings Country Park

Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve

Discover the wild beauty of the ancient woodland, heathland and grassland in the Hastings Country Park nature reserve, complete with 3 miles of dramatic cliffs and coastline and a visitor centre.

Wetland wildlife at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve features shingle, saltmarsh and dunes with bird watching hides and a network of footpaths.  From here head to Camber Castle for a guided tour of Henry VIII's artillery fort.
